On Saturday, October 10, Gwen, Kyle, and Ashton represented the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) at Celebrate Science Indiana, Indiana’s premier science festival, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The team welcomed hundreds of visitors to the AMA Model Aviation Experience, where kids and adults alike had the opportunity to explore model aviation.
The festival featured more than 50 interactive exhibits, giving visitors of all ages the chance to explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through hands-on activities.
At the AMA booth, kids enjoyed trying out the flight simulators and getting a closer look at different types of model aircraft, including helicopters, quadcopters, and fixed-wing airplanes.
The simulators were a hit with adults, too! Parents enjoyed taking the controls themselves while learning more about AMA and the educational resources available to teachers, students, and families. From classroom activities to hands-on aviation experiences, AMA offers a variety of ways to bring STEM learning to life through model aviation.
Events like Celebrate Science Indiana give AMA the opportunity to introduce new audiences to model aviation and show how it can inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. Whether visitors were interested in aircraft design, technology, or simply trying their hand at flying, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
AMA is proud to be part of events that help families discover new interests and explore the possibilities of STEM through aviation.
